Team Teach Training-Level 2 Thursday 11th May
We will be upskilling to Level 2 as a whole school, and the two sessions later in the term will be part of trade off time.
For those who are struggling with the 2 trade off dates later in the term please let us know. It would be ideal that we all have this training, so we will find a work around for everyone.
If you do not need to trade off, or do not work on the days the training is, I highly encourage you to do the training… we will pay you for your time.
The goal is to have all staff level 2 trained in team teach.
Lunch (Subway) will be provided for everyone.
As you can see I will be away from school Wednesday, Thursday and Friday next week. I will also be away the following Monday and Tuesday as I'll be at a QTS PL with Shelda, Kirsty and Sean.
I'll be on Messenger and email though as I'll be in meetings.
Tuesday whole school staff meeting
This staff meeting will focus on our streamed literacy sessions. It will be led by Bri and Danielle, together with Lorraine and Chloe to give staff time together to go through the sessions, trouble shoot and ensure everyone knows what they are doing during the sessions.
Advanced Education Assistant Recognition Forms
Please ensure if you plan on completing this form that you date it 4th May or earlier. I do not need to sign off on it until the end of May. For those interested in becoming an advanced EA I will hold a short get together when I return 8:15am Friday 19th May – staff room. We can go through the form, and what it means to be an advanced education assistant, so that everyone is informed about what additional responsibilities they are undertaking.
If anyone has any questions in the meantime please come and see me, message me etc.
School Photos May 16th and 18th
Our school photo days have been changed. They are now on May 16th and May 18th, which is week 4.
Notes have gone home to families informing them of the change. A staff photo will most likely happen on Thursday 18th May.
Huge thanks to Michelle and Craig for organising the cross country this year- from all accounts it was the most organised and prepared one we have had.
Also big thank you to Jade for supporting the event. Michelle and Jade had clocked 17kms by lunch time, so I can only imagine how far they had run by the end of the day!
June 3rd Staff Development Day
More information will come out about this closer to the day, however our day will focus on curriculum and planning. There are a number of areas that we are going to look at, and in week 4 I will send out a survey so you are able to tell me what areas of the school/curriculum you are most interested in. We are going to get stuck into some of the work around;
- Need (health, physical, emotional, cultural)
- Literacy
- Numeracy
- Self-regulation (including managing behaviour and escalations)
- Communication/social competency
- Problem Solving/critical thinking skills
- Sustainability
- STEM – assessment
- ACSF and Reconciliation
- Staff health and Wellbeing
The plan will be to have a “facilitator” at each one of these stations and as a small group work together on the plan for the school (what does it look like for students, staff, families & how do we get there). There will be an opportunity to be part of 2 groups during the day, so please have a think about which 2 areas you may be interested in.
Staff association and wellbeing
Sue Masterton is gathering some feedback about activities of interest around the school for different things.
We haven’t really had a chance to celebrate being School of the Year… so it would be really nice to go out for an evening. Sue will find out if staff would prefer something formal like a sit down dinner, or something where we can move around the room more.
In times gone by we have also had “drop in” brekkies at different places. So I invite anyone who would like to, to pop in at Dome Currambine on Tuesday 9th May any time from 7:00am for brekkie, a cuppa or even to grab a take away. I'll be there from 7:00am so come join me if you are up and about.
Later in the term I might head there for an afternoon tea after school.
Huge thank you to Linda and those who spent time putting together the steps for the toilets, hopefully they make a difference!
