*Reminder that Craft Club has been cancelled for Term 2
2023 is the 30th year of Joondalup PS. We are looking at creating a committee of interested staff members to help organise an event. Please let me know before the end of term, if you would like to be on the committee.

Students who are picked up during the day
Some student go home early, or are picked up during the day as part of plans, or as isolated days. Can classes please give Kirsty a call and let her know the student has left, as parents do not always sign students out, and there might be a plan in place where they don’t need to – such as Isla or Alec.
There have been a few staffing changes that have happened throughout the term, that you may not be aware of. Firstly, congratulations to both Amanda Cawcutt and Bree Walker who have both accepted permanent positions with us here at Joondalup.
Secondly, Nuala McNally (Room 9) has left us, however will be available for relief from next term, so please consider contacting her if you need relief. Stephanie Nicholson (Room 25) has also left us, as she has transferred to a school much closer to where she lives.
Replacing Nuala is Julie Richardson, and replacing Stephanie is Braeden. Welcome to both of these people as official members of staff with us.
Ruth has also taken on a new role within our school. Ruth will be supporting a number of projects throughout the school and will be responsible for the upkeep, development and maintenance of the literacy resources, art resources and B Block/E Block wet areas (and all the resources within these). Ruth will also support Sue and AAC with the development of resources, as well as supporting both HASS and STEM.
- On Wednesday 28th June (Week 10), Dereck from Yanchep NP will attend the school to run some assemblies around traditional dance and storytelling.
This is part of Joondalup Schools NAIDOC activities program that will happen during the week.
There will be 3, 25 minute sessions and these will be held in the Undercover Area.

Clean up in prep for school holidays
There is no need to turn fridges off or stack furniture for this holiday break. That said please make time to do a bit of a “stocktake” of your classroom, and shared areas, as now it a time when we can throw away things that are broken or out of date. If you would like to throw something away that has a bar code please let myself of Antoinette know before you throw it.
I have attached the holiday cleaning schedule again. You are able to come into school on any day, except when your area is being cleaned. Please don’t enter that area at any time on the scheduled day. If you are attached to E or C Block (anything in orange) then your area will be unalarmed most days as Camp Australia will be onsite.
I will be away and returning on July 11th and can unalarm the school on any date from then on. If you want to go in on a different day – let me know and we can work it out
I have attached this again – for those that wish to have a look. Some were put in pigeon holes for you to look at as a class. We will be completing this as a school in week 3 next term.
Student work displayed at the library
Penny has entered a number of pieces of artwork created by our students to be displayed in libraries. Student work is currently being displayed at Whitford library, and will then be displayed at the Joondalup library over the school holidays.
Staff Development Day – Monday 17th July
Teachers will be meeting with parents for meetings up until 11:45.
Education Assistants will have a session with me in the staff room during this time, and special teachers will be meeting and planning together.
In the afternoon classroom teams will have time together in classrooms to revise and plan for the semester. A list of discussion points for classrooms will be put together and given to classrooms to discuss. This will include revising BMP, going through IEPs, classroom meeting times etc.
Morning tea and lunch will be provided on this day.
Attached is some information put together by Jade that might be useful when planning/including gross motor activities into your day.
