Can everyone have a look at their SeeSaw class list and confirm that all families/students are on SeeSaw and able to access it?
If you have a new student and can't set them up, or have a parent not active on SeeSaw can you please let me know.
SeeSaw has now become the primary communication method between school and families so we want to make sure that every student is set up
Next Wednesday will be “wrap free Wednesday”.
In a effort to reduce our waste we are encouraging everyone to go wrap free with the food they bring to school. Do your best to join in and bring/eat things that are not in packaging and can be eaten from a container, or without the need to be wrapped up
Termico have been out a couple of times over the holidays to try and deter rats from school. Although pest control said they couldn’t see evidence of a lot of food left out, please be mindful to put food in sealed containers in classrooms and wet areas.
Penny had organised for our student work to be displayed at Whitfords Library and Joondalup Library over the school holidays.
Here are a few of the photos

In the coming weeks admin will start to look at class and staff structures for 2024. Initially we will be looking at how many classes we anticipate and if we need to advertise for more staff or not. To help us do this it is really important to have your feedback and input. There is a form attached – please complete it and return it to Antoinette. This form gives you the opportunity to tell us if you want to change your work days/hours and what year group of students you might like to work with, and if there are any specific staff you would like to work with. It is also an opportunity to give us some information about students that will help planning – e.g. if they cannot be in a transportable, or if they work really well with a particular student etc.
Preferences for staff placements cannot be guaranteed, however it certainly helps to know what you think. Hopefully we are able to finalise class lists and staff lists early, and with little stress
Changes to Working with Children Checks – Parent volunteers
There are some changes with parents working as volunteers and working with children checks. Please check out the link for details.
Working with Children Checks - Volunteers
If you have parents volunteering in your class, they must complete the Parent and child volunteer declaration form (on an annual basis), this includes:
- helping with reading
- attending a day excursion
- presenting an award or speaking at an assembly
- on canteen duty
- assisting at a sports carnival
- conducting P&C duties.
A parent must have a current WWC Check and register their WWC Check details with your school when they:
- volunteer for an overnight camp
- billet students in their home
- provide one-on-one mentoring to students.
A parent is a person who:
- is the father, mother, stepfather or stepmother of the child
- at law has responsibility for the long-term care, welfare and development of the child; or the day-to-day care, welfare and development of the child
- is in a de facto relationship with a person referred to in either of the first 2 dot points
- is specified as the child’s prospective adoptive parent under the Adoption Act 1994 section 20(b).
All other family members and friends (over 18 years of age) who want to volunteer are required to have a current WWC Check.
If an incident occurs with a parent or child volunteer onsite or you are audited, you will need to provide evidence of the completed form (and a copy of their WWC Check if applicable).
Refer to Ikon and the attached documents for further information.
There has been some feedback that the furniture in the B Block wet area (Round table and café style chairs) are not suitable for what the area is being used for anymore (streamed literacy, one on one work etc.) For those that use the area can you please flick me an email to let me know if the furniture is/is not ok, and any changes you feel would be beneficial to the area.
Teachers if you would like an ipad for your use in the class and don’t have one please let me know. Some teachers like the idea of being able to store things digitally as they go.
Please find updated staff phone list attached, copies have been put in pigeon holes.
Staff members and their immediate family can use our employee assistance program.
The employee assistance program (EAP) gives access to counselling with highly experienced psychologists.
You and your immediate family can access up to 6 sessions each year. The sessions are:
- free of charge
- confidential
- available face-to-face, over the phone or via Skype.
Immediate family includes a de-facto partner or spouse and dependent children under 25 years of age.
