I will not be at school on Friday as I will be presenting at a WAESPAA principal day. On the Saturday morning I fly out to Canberra as I am a director on the board for ASEPA (Australian Special Principals Association). We will be meeting on Sunday and Monday – and will meet with the Federal Minister of Education. I fly back to Perth Monday afternoon and will be back at school on Tuesday.
There will be a brekky in the staff room on Monday morning… with a twist. This time we are asking that people bring something to share, or just bring your own brekky and come to the staff room early for a coffee and a chat.
High Flyers Excursion and Leggings!
Attached is the information Sean sent out earlier in the week for the high flyers excursion. You can also wear active wear on excursion days if you like. High Flyers Staff Document
It has been really difficult to find a teacher for this classroom to backfill Danielle who will be on maternity leave for the next 12 months. Therefore we will be advertising the position, I am hopeful this will go out live on Monday or Tuesday. Depending on how quickly we can get through the process we will have a teacher for about week 2 next term. This means we will have relief in room 28 for at least week 1 next term while we finalise the process.
Is nearly finished!! We have given feedback about a couple of defects including the limestone rocks under the balance beams. Fencing will either come down next Wednesday/Thursday. Depending on its popularity (new things always attract lots of attention) we may create a roster for years groups of Primary School students to play in the area.
Today – Sean, Antoinette and I have a final meeting to choose a bus provider, who will build our school bus. It will have wheelchair access, and seat 23 people if all seats are in the bus. There are 3 two seater seats which can be removed if needed to support students in wheelchairs.
Is next Friday! If you are interested in being part of the afternoon let Kris Reid know
Evacuation Drill - rescheduled
The evacuation drill has been rescheduled to Tuesday 19th March @ 2:15pm. This should not take too long, please make sure you know where you are going and what you need to take.
Pyjama Day and Easter Hat Parade
We will be having a 'Dress in your PJ’s' day on the last day of school. Students can also wear/bring an Easter Hat if they want to and there will be a parade for students, a bit like book week.
We are offering all employees the opportunity to receive the Influenza (Flu) vaccination this year.
The vaccinator will come to our workplace and we can each see them and have our vaccination in private. It only takes 1-2 minutes of your time.
Flu vaccinations remain very important for workplaces in 2024. Dr Kirsten Baulch, our Medical Director, has advised that flu vaccination rates in the community last year were quite low and medical authorities are encouraging all Australians to get vaccinated this year to protect themselves and help ease pressure on our health system.
The date for our onsite vaccination program is:
Thursday, 23 May 2024 from 09:30
Click the link to book your vaccination: Vaccination Bookings (flubookings.net)
*You are required to read the FAQ and consent form within the link. This information is available through the online booking system as well as the option of online consent, eliminating the need to print and sign a consent form.
If you choose not to complete your consent online you will be required to do so with the nurse on the day.
B Block main entrance area will be fenced off due to some upgrades happening there. Temp fencing will be installed on Monday PM and work will commence Tuesday 19 March. Softfall will be installed Thurs/Fri and left to “cure” over weekend. Monday 25 March temp fencing should come down and area will once again be accessible. Please ensure students DON’T exit the wet area into this area where works are taking place.
Junior Nature Play area will be signed off in the day or so. There’s a few items that need to be rectified but we’re hoping for this playground to be open for use early next week.
Staff Record Cards are in all staff pigeonholes.
Please complete and return to Kirsty in the office to ensure your records remain up to date.
