*Garden Club Thursdays Weeks 2-10 in Term 2
Please read and action the following points/information regarding medical cabinets in classrooms:
- These cabinets are for student medications only. You are welcome to keep a small supply of band aids if you need, but please do not keep bandages and other bulky items that are not required in cabinets as it makes it very hard to locate emergency medications if relief or other staff are in your class.
- Rooms that are using filing cabinets as well as medical cabinets, please ensure that the filing cabinet is always locked. Kirsty H has printed signs that must be placed on the front of the drawer being used. Please clearly write the student’s name on the sign so medications can be easily located. Signs will be put on the top of pigeonholes for staff to collect and use immediately.
- Ensure your medical cabinet is easily accessible to anyone entering the class, with the area free of obstructions and located easily.
- All students with emergency medication/s (i.e. seizure medication) must have their medications with them at all times. Staff are to ensure the student bag with medication/s are taken to all specialist classes and returned to class.
- When a student is supplied a replacement medication (where we already have paperwork filled out), please advise Kirsty of the new expiry date for data entry and, where applicable, write on your yellow dosage form that a new box has been supplied and how many tablets were in the pack.
- Students with Midazolam…It has been identified that these vials need to be kept in the silver foil pack as once exposed to sunlight, they expire. All students with Midazolam have been noted, and Kirsty is contacted the parents to replace.
- All students with expired medications have been noted, and Kirsty is currently following up.

Big thank you to all those who have volunteered to lead sessions and to Louise who has coordinated this. Please make sure you discuss as a class who will go to what. EA’s - A reminder that if a session you want to attend lands on when you are due to be in a specialist class, you need to talk to the teacher to see if its possible to release you. It may/may not be possible to attend the activity planned. Please do this during week 10.
A big thank you in advance to all teachers in getting your reports completed by the deadline. Already, we have the majority of them completed. Admin will start to look at these from Monday morning so please make sure they are done by this time if they are not already.
Louise starts LSL on Monday 17 June (week 10) and will return in Term 3. For weeks 10 and 11 Jan Tucker will be back in school. In week 11, Sean is also on LSL and some staff have been asked to support admin for a day each whilst working on ongoing projects.
Collaborative planning meetings
Wednesday's collab time appeared to be really useful for Teachers. Any feedback is welcome so please let me know any positives/areas for development from it.
Rooms 9 and 16 are Performing at the ESSN Performing Arts Festival today. Thanks to Ruth and all the staff who are involved and good luck to the students involved. Please ask students about it and praise them for their efforts on their return.
