*Garden Club Thursdays Weeks 2-9 in Term 3
We have our new school bus! It will be parked temporarily offsite during the day and by the garden at night until our bus shed is finished.
The bus shed is in the kindergarten car park, and it is anticipated to be complete by 14 August.
At present Louise, Tim and I have our bus licence.
Sean and Michelle will be getting their licence too.
It would be great to make sure we use the bus and it doesn't just sit there. Therefore if anyone has any great ideas about how we could utilise it, please let me know!
Thank you to those who have continued to remind us about this. The Primary School have committed to removing the rubbish ASAP, as it is their furniture.
That said, can I please request that we do not dump furniture behind pre-primary or behind the gardener's shed. If you have something that is broken or that you no longer need please let us know and we will organise it to be removed.
Please see attached regarding NAIDOC week activities.
In regard to the P&C organising Subway orders; staff are able to order if you wish. Parents are not able to order. Order forms have been put in pigeonholes. If you require any more, please print from the email sent earlier this week.
Louise - full time Associate Principal
As of next Wednesday, Louise will be joining the administration team full time, permanently. Jan has definitely taken leave now, and having Louise in the office full time supports everyone.
For the remainder of this term, Ria will be teaching in Room 9 on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays and Brett will be teaching on Thursdays and Fridays.
In term 4 Hannah Poulter returns to us from maternity leave, and will be in Room 9 on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Heidi is recovering well after her latest surgery. It will take some time for her recover, and we expect to see her back towards the end of the term. As she feels better and better it is likely she may start getting in touch about her programs and planning.
This weekend Amanda, Laurissa and Sean head interstate to an education conference. They will be back at school on Wednesday.
We have been approved for an additional General Learning Transportable for 2025. (general learning is a similar transportable to Room 35).
It is anticipated that the new classroom will go where the pirate playground is. (There used to be a transportable there, so all the services are in situ already).
If the classroom does go there we will relocate the play equipment and shade elsewhere around the school.
New sensory playground - work commencing
Some time ago we planned on building some play equipment on the oval for students who did not engage with others, or who were not ambulant.
Well, this project is finally starting! We will have a place to climb, sit, lean and spin for students, all on soft fall. The new play area will be directly outside the medical bay.
We are going to start planning for 2025. It is really important everyone has had the opportunity to give us feedback about where they would prefer to work.
If you havent completed the form could you please do so ASAP. We will be going up 1 class next year. That said we only have 5 students graduating, so there is not much room for many new students.
Mini Olympics - Friday 2 August
Lots of information has come out from Michelle about this day.
Participation certificates will be printed and added to pigeonholes for handing out on the day.
A staff breakfast will be held on this day in the staff room-Please mark it in your calendars!
Just a reminder regarding upcoming swimming lessons.
All families must be on Compass to complete permission and payment.
Families will have received hard copy forms to complete also. These are for the swim school and must be completed as well as the Compass permission and payment.
