Admin have started the process for staffing for next year. Although we are going up a classroom, it does not necessarily mean our staff will grow due to the number of staff we have on leave, who may return. We are currently looking at how much teaching FTE we need (including specialist time), how many permanent FTE we have, and how many staff will be returning next year. We will then repeat this process with Education Assistant staff.
Thank you to everyone who has completed the planning document for 2025 – it makes things so much easier.
If you are a fixed term staff member (teacher and education assistant) and you definitely want/need to work full time or part time next year, please make sure you look and apply at other schools, as I cannot guarantee that there will be a position for you here. Remember if you are fixed term, it means you are backfilling a position of a permanent staff member who is/may be returning next year, which means your position is no longer available.
Later in the year we will fill start to fill in classrooms with students (as we do every year). Everyone will get the opportunity to see the planning, and have give input and feedback into the process.
I have attached “The Standard” as well as our report we received last review. This will give you an idea of the sorts of things we talked about last time, as well as well as the criteria of what we need to talk about this time.
In the spirit of the Olympics there will be a staff brekky from 7:00am in the staff room, make sure you come along for a bacon and egg roll, or something yummy for breakfast.
Based on our assessment data we know that comprehension is where our students are stagnating in learning. Kane has been working on some comprehension modules and we will go through these on Wednesday at the meeting.
Attached is the information regarding swimming that Sean sent out earlier this week.
Please:
- Read the information guide. Its designed to help. If you have further questions, please come and see me.
- Look at the CURRENT staffing allocations for the pool. This is likely to change dependant on a few factors but I will endeavour not to unless we need to or we get more capacity of staffing. If you have an agreed straight swap of positions with someone, come and see me as this is not a problem.
*Apologies for the small size of your groups. This is the only way it will attach in the newsletter
Heidi was successful in receiving a grant supporting the creation of an assessment tool, program, scope and sequence etc. in the area of fine motor skills and digital technologies. I have attached a little information that Heidi has created.
