Electrical Works and Cleaning Schedule
Electrical Works in the Holidays
- RCD Electrical Upgrades – taking place on Saturday 5 October and Sunday 6 October between 6:00am and 6:00pm. Areas of the school will be without power for 5 hours at a time to allow for the upgrades.
- Due to the works, the server will be shutdown from the afternoon of Friday 4 October to Sunday 6 October – this means there will be no computers, photocopiers and internet.
- All fridges and freezers (except those in the Canteen) must be emptied and left open – this is due to the loss of power during the RCD upgrades.
- LED Lightning Upgrade – lighting upgrade will be completed between Saturday 21 September and Monday 23 September, impacting Admin, B Block, C Block, D Block, Library and security lights. Please keep out of their way if you do come into school.
Cleaning Schedule and Information
- You are unable to access your classrooms and wet areas from 4:30 am until 1:00 pm on the days they are being cleaned – refer to the schedule below.
- Only the areas being cleaned will be unlocked and unarmed each day.
- If you are accessing the school you need to unlock/unarm and lock/alarm the areas yourself.
- Do not contact the cleaning and gardening staff during the holidays as they are busy and have limited time to complete their work.
- Do not contact Camp Australia.
- Bins will not be emptied during the holidays, please take all rubbish home with you. We have had a lot of issues with mice and rats!
See below for when your area is being cleaned.
We will be running a brief Compass training in the staff room sometime next term to review the basics of lesson attendance and data entry.
The first session will run Week 1, Wednesday 9 October 8am to 8.45am, and the second session is date TBC, sometime in Week 2, but will be after school 3.15pm-4.00pm. Staff can choose which session to come to, and it is not compulsory to attend.
If you have any questions or issues you would like to ask about during the sessions, please start making notes for yourself now as we will ask you to send them through prior to the session.
In the meantime, please ensure you access both the knowledge base within Compass and instructional videos and PDF documents in the following link:
RCD and Emergency and Exit light testing will happening on school grounds on 11 October 2024 between 6am-9am.
A small power outage will occur whilst on site.
With Adventure Week coming up next term, we need excursion proposal forms sent to Antoinette and Kirsty H ready to load into Compass.
Please use the Compass excursion form located in: S:\AdminShared\E6084S01-Joondalup ESC\All Staff\Excursion Info\Master Excursion Documentation
These forms can have as much detail as you like, as this is what we will use to fill out the event details for parents to read.
Please include things such as;
- Where the students will eat lunch (at school or at the excursion)?
- Will parents be able to attend?
- Do students require recess and lunch packed separately?
- What time will the bus leave and return to school?
- Will there be care for students if the parent does not wish for them to attend?
Please continue to encourage parents to use their Compass app as much as possible as this will be the only way they can decline or consent to all excursions/incursions.
All other paperwork still needs to be completed and handed to Kirsty by the organising teacher after the excursion, to be archived.
If you require any assistance, please let Antoinette or Kirsty know.
Class/staff lists for next year
Class/staff lists have now been taken down and are being prepared electronically. This year we tried to accommodate all requests. In reality what this has created is a bit of a domino effect, as when one staff member moves it moves a second staff member who moves a third and so on… Therefore we will look at everything and put out something early next term.
Next Term – In readiness for our school review
Week One next term is going to be busy, collecting all the evidence for our school review. Kellie has organised 1 relief teacher and EA for the first week. We have all the things we need for the review – it is just a case of printing it out and putting it all in some order. I might ask you to find something or print something off during week one, or help with some narrative around what we are putting together.
We are going to tell a few stories this time about our processes of how things came to be. For example – we are going to tell a story of one of our students and all the wrap around support they get from school and agencies, and how close all these groups need to be to support this student.
We are going to tell the story of how our new junior play equipment came to be… and our chicken coop… and comprehension etc.
Has been changed to Thursday 14 November. This is because some of our year 5 students will be on a leadership incursion on Friday 15 November.
Put your “out of office” on your emails…

Rhys is beginning to prepare for this night. We may have our own act again, and we can also buddy up with classrooms, please start to have a think about this. There will be a whole school rehearsal on 19 November in the morning.
