*Garden Club Thursdays Weeks 2-8 in Term 4 *excluding week 5
Jack Tan-Gardener - on leave from weeks 8 to 10
These can be decorated whenever you like, but it would be great if doors could be up by the 1 December for rooms who are going to be involved.
Art Room / Art last day of school
The Art Room will be undergoing a huge refurbishment over the school holidays and will need to be completely packed up and emptied by the end of the last day of school. Therefore on the last day students who have art will be having art in their classroom, and will more than likely be doing a Christmas activity, or something similar. A relief teacher will be in, so Penny is able to pack up.
There is always a number of things to do in each class and shared area (wet areas, staff room etc) before the end of the school year. Attached is a checklist for each room so you can think about all the things that need to be happen. Do not leave a “clean out” until the last minute as there will be no room in the big bin… please start clearing out now, and taking extra trips to the bin as needed.
Get together 6th or 7th December
There is space on the whiteboard to write your name if you are interested (and free) to catch up on either of these dates.
Is still looking for someone keen! If you are interested in taking something on like this please let me know.
Tuesday after recess – fire truck
On Tuesday after recess Shannon Read has organised an incursion for her class, where a fire truck will be on the oval. Please be aware that there will probably be a siren noise, and the gates on the oval will be opened during this time.
Official Handover will happen on Wednesday afternoon of Week 9. We will send out a checklist of what needs to be in the “black box” to handover and what doesn’t. Please make sure everything is an up to date for this year as it can be. All staff are invited to join this meeting. If you are an Education Assistant, you will be paid for your time.
This will happen in Week 9 & 10. Again, a timetable will be given out so classrooms know when are where they are moving. When the timetable is sent out, please let families know, as students may be going into a different class during Week 10.
There was an incident with Lewis last week, where he ran out the front gate and across the road. The incident was handled really well, and everyone responded and did everything they needed to, thank you.
As you can imagine it has left the family really distressed, to the point they have not brought Lewis into school for the remainder of this week.
Mum and Dad are really concerned that a gate could be open somewhere in the school, and thus have requested that whenever Lewis is outside of class he be held by the hand the entire time. As I was unable to guarantee that all gates are always locked, I have told the family that Lewis will be playing in the sensory room at recess and lunch times. Therefore if you are on duty with Lewis, please collect him from Room 14 at break times, hold his hand and walk him to the sensory room. Please stay inside here for recess and lunch until the bell goes when you can walk him back to class (holding his hand).
