Messenger Groups for JESC 2025
JESC 2025-This is for all staff messages; students missing, extreme weather notifications etc
JESC Social-This is for arranging social events and messages outside of our professional duties.
Class Groups-This is for messages that are needed to be shared with your class only.
DM-DM someone if the reply/answer is only needed with that person.
This will help to stop chats becoming log jammed with messages that can be sent in a smarter way, hittinh the right audiences.
Most of you will have noticed we have a new gate system at front admin.
Both gates are on an automatic open/close system, controlled by admin staff. Gates cannot be opened by pushing/pulling.
AM - The smaller, side gate will be open from 7.15am, with the large gate open from 8.15am until the siren at 8.50am.
PM - Both gates will be open from 3pm-3.30pm
If you wish to leave school grounds during school hours, we will 'buzz' you out. If we don't see you, please just pop your head into the office and ask us to open the gate for you.
Please note that admin do continuously open the gates for visitors during the day, so gates may be opening/closing during recess and lunch periods.
All other gates will be unlocked/locked as usual.
Introducing our new students! Attached are the kindy students.

Smoking Ceremony 9:00am (not 9:30am like it says on the term planner)
Is on next Friday and staff and students will sit in the undercover area – Sean will provide more details. All students can attend, however if you have students who become distressed they don’t need to go. It is quite an informal event, so students can be as present or near the ceremony as they like.
There is a TEAMS group titled “Joondalup Schools”
In this team you will find booking sheets for the undercover area, staff room, staff room offices and more. If you are not in the group (it doesn’t always automatically add staff annoyingly!) please let me know and I will add you. It is important to use this sheet when booking the undercover area for assembly practice etc.
It is also helpful for PE so they know when classrooms plan on using the UCA etc.
New staff / staff with questions meeting in staff room Thursday
The admin team will be available after school in the staff room for any new staff, or and staff who have questions about things. Next week there is no agenda, it is just a catch up if you would like. It is not compulsory to attend, and you can drop in for as long or little as you like.
Please let me know early if you feel you will need some additional time to complete IEP’s. We are able to get relief in – but just need to plan in advance. You may not need any time, or you may just need half a day.
Evacuation Drill – Wednesday 12 February
Next Wednesday we will have our evacuation drill, please ensure you have your emergency plan in your classroom, and all staff in your class know what to do and where to go. If you have any questions, or don’t have a plan, please ask admin.
Australian Curriculum Version 9
Attached is some information from SCASA regarding version 9 of our curriculum.
