International Women’s Day – Breakfast
Next Friday is International Women’s Day. In acknowledgment we will be putting on a breakfast in the staffroom from 7.30/7.45am. The big screen will be streaming the awards live so you can watch it. Pop in any time, stay for a little or a long time Friday morning.
EA breaks around specialist classes.
The general rule is please do not take breaks during specialist subjects. This may mean taking your break after your duty at recess/lunch.
The only times this is different is:
If a specialist class is one side of a recess/lunch and Sensory room/Drumming is the other side, break is taken during the specialist class.
If the scenario is a specialist class is one side of a recess and streamed Literacy is the other, break is taken during the period that streamed Literacy is held. This needs coordination as a SL cohort. There is enough time in that session for staff to take their breaks FIRST and then complete the SL activities. Staff MUST go straight away instead of coming back to class after duty in order to get their full time allocation.

Heathridge Primary School is excited to announce the creation of a new Joondalup Learning Community Hub, designed to enhance your ability to support students with imputed and diagnosed disabilities in mainstream classrooms. This valuable opportunity includes three 10-minute presentations from esteemed professionals within the JLC. Gain insights, practical strategies, and a deeper understanding of inclusive education practices that will benefit your teaching and support all students in achieving their full potential. The first planning meeting for this initiative will be held in Term 1, Week 5 on Tuesday 4th of March at Heathridge PS.
The P&C will be running the Easter Raffle again this year, and we will be collecting all the chocolates/gifts and putting them together as we have done in previous years. We will put the gifts together on Friday 4 April – I realise this is also swimming lessons, but we can make it work ?
The Easter Bonnet Parade will be held on Tuesday 8 April at 9:00am in the undercover area. The raffle will be called out at this time too. Parents will be invited, and winning students will take their prizes in the morning – parents can take them home if they are there.
If classrooms have any broken or unwanted furniture please let a member from admin know and we will come and dispose of it for you. We can no longer store broken furniture behind the PP block or outside the dental therapy window.
JPS are utilising the area behind the PP block (this is great news!) and will look at putting some fencing up at the end of the block. Many staff have requested this in the past – as this will enclose our K Block play area.
On Monday a number of staff were interviewed by Stuart as part of the bigger process of being a well, resilient staff. Everything everyone has provided is confidential and anonymous, and the information he has so far (survey information and interview information) will be used to create a report. Stuart has also requested some school data (Workers comp, number of critical incidents, number of PIIR forms) to triangulate the data, again this is just statistical and does not identify any individual staff member or student.
When he has triangulated the data he will give the school a report, and some recommendations and then will help us write a plan on what we can maintain and do to be a healthy, resilient staff.
There will be a teacher meeting in the staff room from 3:15 – 4:15.
This meeting will be an opportunity to catch up about PAT maths (for those who access this), IEP’s RTP questions etc. You are able to work on IEP’s sit with others to review and work through things.
The Schools Plus team (Heidi’s grant initiative) will meet to discuss the grant during this time too.
