Please find attached Sensorium Workshops timetable for weeks 7 & 8.
Timetable for Term 2 will be sent to staff closer to the date.
Please find attached checklists for those who have returned the physical swim form. These are the forms that go to the swim school-not the parent consent we require on Compass.
There are still quite a few outstanding consents/payments. Staff are able to check these by looking into the events in Compass. Click on the event and attendees. From here you can click on the 'Form' tab to filter and see your class.
All parents are emailed weekly with a reminder, but may need a reminder from the class also.
If parents are asking for a hard copy consent form, please let them know that we do not have these as it is all through Compass. Feel free to direct parents to me in the office if they require assistance.
JLC – Professional Learning opportunities
We will be conducting our first scheduled JLC Teaching and Learning Hub Planning Meeting next week on Tuesday 18 March @ Belridge SC from 3:30 - 4:15pm.
As you know, the JLC Teaching and Learning Hub's aim is to promote best practice across the JLC by sharing resources and skill sets aligned to DoE's Teaching and Learning Framework.
You may remember that on Tuesday in Week 3 of each term (beginning in Term 2 this year) our Hub presents a PL session to interested staff. These sessions are planned by the Hub and aim to offer practical and relevant teaching and learning strategies.
There is a connect group for the teaching and learning hub – Please let me know if you would like to be added to the community and you will get PL updates directly.
We have received 2 grants from Variety this year. One is 10 x $250. These are to be used for individuals who may need uniforms, or items for school (booklist items) or shoes. If you have a student in your class that could use a new uniform please let me know.
Secondly we received $7,500 from the Variety Bash yesterday! This is to spend on our students too. It could be spent on playground items, something permanent (equipment) or even a project for the students, or something else. If you have any ideas please let me know.
I have attached a new P&C request form. If you want to apply for some funding for something that is needed around the school – the P&C may be able to support by funding the cost. Last year they purchased the shade sails for our Garden of Weedin. If you would like to request something, please give it to me to submit on the schools behalf.
New rules around public liability for excursions.
There have been changes to service providers and public liability requirements – this may impact on what is needed for you to be collect for excursions. I have attached the checklist in case you cannot access the link.
Those who work on Fridays will be required to “trade off” time throughout the year. There are lots of opportunities to do this throughout the year, such as Team Teach, First Aid, Manutension etc. Education Assistants: If you do not work on a Friday, and attend the PL you will be paid for it. If you do work on a Friday and complete more hours than required, you will be paid for it. Teachers: Part of your TRB requirement is that you attend PL throughout the year – and some of this can be used for TRB requirement. If you have done well over your time come and see me so we can work out how to pay you for your time.
Teachers don’t forget you must pay your TRB annual fee before March 31 otherwise you will not be able to come to work! There are lots of teachers yet to pay – please don’t leave it until the last minute.
An annual fee of $95 applies to all registration types and covers the period from 1 April of the current year to 31 March of the following year.
The annual fee is different to the registration renewal fee. Each registration type has a different renewal cycle, and the renewal fee may fall close to the annual fee due date.
Teachers can pay their outstanding fees in a number of ways, including through Online Payments or Teacher Login via the TRBWA website.
If a teacher has not paid all outstanding fees by 30 April 2025, their teacher registration will be subject to cancellation.
This will be an opportunity for classes to sit together and go through plans for every student.
Teachers please print out or bring IEP’s BMP, Risk Management Plans, Meal time Management Plans, escalation profiles, Personal Support Plans, Attendance plans etc. for all your students that have them. As a call team please go through all these plans, and discuss if there are students that may need a plan that currently does not have one.
It will be an opportunity for specialist teachers to talk to class groups about individual students and plans, and for staff to ask questions from classes about individuals in relation to the playground, streamed literacy, and shared learning areas such as HASS.
By the end of the meeting it would be great if each class had a list of their students and the plans they have, and any they may need.
