Happy holidays! School returns on Monday 28 April. Students also return on this day.
We are nearly there!! Only one week to go.....
Holiday Access and Cleaning
Due to Easter and ANZAC Day, Cleaners will only be working 3 days during the school holidays.
- Access:Staff cannot enter the school until after 1:00 pm on Monday 14 April, Tuesday 15 April and Wednesday 16 April while cleaning is underway.
- Security:Staff must independently lock/unlock doors and arm/disarm the security system as no assistance will be available during the holidays.
- Rubbish:Take all rubbish home with you or put it in the skip bin to avoid issues with vermin.
We are half way there!! Thank you everyone for your patience, flexibility, and support for your class and each other. Swimming in one of the most stressful times of the school year – so the silver lining is it will be finished by the end of the term!
An actual photo from our swimming lessons on Monday
Remember at the beginning of the year we did a session with Stuart McKenzie and Mark Atkins around psychosocial safety? Then some staff engaged in an interview type session with Stuart? He gave us some of the data around this. Attached is the latest report, now that he has triangulated the data.
Next term, 7 of our staff will be doing the full 2 day course in mental health resilience. This group will have this report, and will create a plan on how we can address the stressors in the workplace (such as physical safety and mental fatigue of the job) and hopefully make our jobs lighter and leave us with some energy at the end of a day
This is definitely a watch this space!
We have had a number of staff change their work fraction or reduce their work fraction this term for unforeseen reasons. The knock on effect has been that there are a number of classes who have A LOT of different staff working in there each week, which can be really difficult. This is not an ideal situation – and we are trying to rectify it to reduce the number of different staff in each class.
We may need to consider staff classroom changes in Term 2 to alleviate effected classrooms. This will only happen if we cannot reduce the number of staff in classrooms by trying to find alternate solutions. I'll keep you updated on how this progresses.
At present it will/is impacting 4 classrooms.
