On Thursday 15 May at 2:15pm we will be having a lock down drill. A message will be sent out to parents beforehand, letting them know. Please read through your emergency plan, and prep students for this. The drill will not take longer than about 5 minutes.
Seven staff will be attending a two day PL following up on the work we have been doing with RSO – and the health and wellbeing of ourselves at school. A report has been completed and was distributed last term showing what areas we as a staff feel impact us the most.
Margaret, Sean, Ellen, Heidi, Tyla, Bel, Linda and Madi will be attending the two days.
A reminder to those attending the PL that it will be held in the staff room from 3:15. This is part of our trade off time and is really important – as it lessens our risk of hurting ourselves doing things during the day.
A message from Sensorium - A huge thank you to you and the entire team at Joondalup Ed Support Centre for your collaboration during our Oddysea Project!
We thoroughly enjoyed working with your wonderful staff and students, and our team has gained invaluable insights from the experience!
We would greatly appreciate it if you could share our feedback form with the teachers and educational assistants who participated in the Oddysea sessions.
This short survey can be accessed via this link and can be completed by yourself and any staff members that were present for the deliveries:
Feedback for Staff
We’d also love to hear from the students about how they found the experience. This survey can be completed by students independently or with assistance from an EA. Here’s the link for student responses:

We are hopeful that Sensorium will receive some funding to build a new story and production for next year – that we can be a part of.
Will be in the staff room on Wednesday from 3:15pm. I (and those leading projects), will update staff on a number of initiatives that are currently happening around the school and where we are up to in everything.
We will be spending the money on a couple of things. One will be a new 3D printer that can custom print some resources we need to teach students some of the foundational skills.
Secondly we will be purchasing some equipment for students to utilise in the junior playground.
The Student Assistance Payment scheme is open until 4 July. Information has been sent to families regarding this and how to claim.
I've had a few queries from staff regarding where to find Student Numbers for students as parents require them for the payment. A notification has been sent to families to ring the office if they don't know their student's number. However, if they ask you, it can be found in the student personal tab (see pic attached). The number is the only thing they require from us. Please do not give any other personal information in the case of split families etc. If unsure, please direct parents to the office.
All the best to the group of ladies who are heading down south to walk a section of the Cape to Cape – or to support them by being the driver. Have fun!
Kapture Photography will be here in Week 5-Tuesday 27 & Thursday 29 May. We will be having the class and staff photos all in the undercover area as we have done previously.
I have re-attached the draft schedule for the two days. Kapture need this finalised by this Monday, 12 May, so please let me know if you require any change to your timeslot. If you speak to another class to swap timeslots, please just let me know.
Flyers have been put in teacher pigeonholes. Please ensure you check names on each form and send home with the correct student.
