All staff (except for office staff) will be at the conference next Friday. Registration is 8am-8.45am, with sessions starting 9am.
There will be a sign in section where Sean and Louise will give you your session details. I don’t think any of us got the sessions we wanted, so just look in and see if there is any space on the day and just swap if you are able.
Office staff and Natalie will be at Belridge Secondary College for the morning for a “Bullshift” PD. I will then be heading over to the conference, before leaving to head to the Aspiring Principal’s conference (still in the city) to present.
*If anyone is interested on staying for a drink after the conference we could organise to go somewhere?
Oval Aeration & Grounds Fertilisation
Amendment to last week's notification on the oval aeration...
The oval will be aerated on the morning of Monday, 26 May. Please avoid the area during this time to allow the contractors to complete the work, which may take up to half a day. If necessary, work will pause during recess to allow student access.
The school grounds are scheduled to be fertilised between Wednesday, 21st May & Friday, 30th May.
This product is classified as unscheduled, meaning it poses no serious safety risks and is approved by DoE for application on school grounds during school hours.
Most classes and blocks utilise A3 laminators. Recently, a few classes have reported issues such as paper jams and burning rollers.
Please remember that these machines are valued at hundreds of dollars each and must be operated correctly. Improper use can void the warranty.
Key points to keep in mind:
- Do not insert cut-outs directly into a laminating sheet and send it through the machine. Sheets should not have gaps, as this can cause burning and crinkling. Guide sheets have been purchased for laminating cut-outs, which will be provided to classes that need them. Otherwise, please laminate a full sheet and cut it after lamination.
- Ensure the back feeder tray is open before use. Closing it can cause jams and damage the rollers, which will invalidate the warranty.
- If you experience an issue with the laminator, please notify Kirsty H. and include clear pictures and videos of the problem. The warranty claim process requires detailed evidence, so providing specific visuals will facilitate quicker assistance. If the issue resulted from user error, please still inform us—warranty replacement may still be possible.
- Use the appropriate type of sheets and set the correct temperature for your material.
- Review the manual that came with your machine before operation. If you have further questions, consulting the manual is recommended.
Thank you for your attention to these points to ensure the longevity and proper functioning of the laminators.

There is a position (or 2) available for anyone interested in joining the committee. The committee meets about twice a term on a Monday after school. It is the responsibility of the committee to set the school budget, discuss spending, any projects that might be starting or ongoing, and approving financial requests from others. There is a commitment of your own time.
If this is something you may be interested in please see Antoinette or Natalie.
Staff Development Week – Term 2 Week 10
Although Week 10 was not the most popular choice (it was second), it does seem to be the best time logistically.
The next step is to categorise the feedback and PD requests, and then approach people who may be able to present on what has been requested… watch this space
