Kaya,
We are currently in our Adventure Week meaning we are almost at the end of the school year! Yesterday, our upper primary students went to Bounce, and today we have students at Outback Splash and Caversham Wildlife Park! Students get really excited about this week, and it is a nice way to celebrate the year together.
Carols by Candlelight
Last week, Joondalup Primary School hosted Carols by Candlelight on the oval which was a huge event with lots of families attending. We even had visits from students who had graduated which was a lovely surprise. We had a small number of students participate in performances this year, and they certainly did us proud. It would be great to see many more of our students be part of the event next year.
Graduation
Congratulations and good luck wishes to all our students who are graduating from Year 6 this year. Our graduation ceremony will be on Tuesday 10 December, in the undercover area. Our graduating students are going to many different schools next year. We also have a number of students who are moving at the end of the year, I wish you all the best at your new school. It would be lovely to hear from students in the future about how they are going.
School Reports
School reports will sent home electronically on Tuesday 10 December. Earlier this week I sent a letter home explaining that there will be no attendance on the report this year. Please contact the school if you need to know your child’s attendance for the semester or year. Please also advise the school at joondalup.esc@education.wa.edu.au if you need to update your email address.
School Holidays
We are just about at the end of the school year! The last day for students is on Thursday 12 December. School will be closed over the summer break, and we will welcome students back on the first day Wednesday 5 February 2025. Please make sure you turn Compass Notifications on, so you can receive any important information about the 2025 school year.
2025 Class Lists
Student class lists are all complete, and we hope there will not be any/many changes made. If you know you won’t be returning next year and haven’t let us know yet, please do, so our class lists are as up to date as they can be. You can ask staff which class your child will be in next year.
Our Staff
A huge thank you to our staff this year for their dedication to school and students. We have a number of staff who are not returning to Joondalup next year. Some may be returning in the future, but are pursuing other exciting things. I would like to give best wishes to Chloe Hobson and Rhianna Moule who are taking some leave from Joondalup. I would also like to wish Ashley Vincent and Deborah Wallin all the best, they will not be returning to Joondalup next year. We will be welcoming back some staff next year who have been on leave.
Public School Review Report
Earlier this term our school underwent our Public School Review. Representatives of students, staff, families, our Board, the P&C and community members were part of the review day. Attached is the finalised report we have received from the review. It was a really positive day, with the reviewers being very positive and supportive of the work we do here. We have received a 5 year return, which indicates our school is operating well above the standard, which is what our performance is measured against.
I would like to wish everyone a wonderful summer. Enjoy the sunshine. On behalf of all of us here at Joondalup Education Support Centre, I would like to thank you for being part of our school, we treasure every student and celebrate every success that happens. We look forward to seeing you all again in 2025.

We have been getting into the Christmas spirit in Room 23. We have worked together to create two beautiful door decorations to display some wonderful artwork by the students in our class. We always say we are clever cookies, so we created our first door with some gingerbread cookies. We then have been working on learning the letters in our name so created some reindeers that have lights stuck onto their antlers with our names. We are looking forward to creating some more beautiful Christmas artwork over the next few weeks of school and enjoying our last few weeks together as a class before we get ready to go into Year 1 and Year 2.
As we wrap up this wonderful year, I want to take a moment to reflect on the achievements, activities, and joyful moments we’ve shared in Room 1. It’s been a fantastic journey of learning, growing, and celebrating together. We’ve celebrated big milestones, tackled challenges, and achieved so much together.
Now, as we transition into the holiday season, our classroom has been buzzing with festive excitement! We’ve begun some fun Christmas activities, including creating a door display, making ourselves into elves, setting up our Christmas tree and many more fun activities! I look forward to continuing the festive fun and ending the year on a high note!
Wishing you and your family a joyful and peaceful holiday season.
What an incredible year of creativity and learning it has been! This year, our students have explored the Elements of Art, experimenting with new techniques, and drawing inspiration from famous artists and art movements. Their growth as artists has indeed been inspiring.
As we approach the end of the school year, we want to celebrate all their hard work and talent. Students will bring their art portfolio home, and we encourage families to host their own "Art Show" at home! This is a beautiful opportunity for students to share their creations and artistic journeys with loved ones.
Here are some ideas to create your own art show:
Display the artwork in one room: Create a mini-gallery space for the student’s work.
Enjoy a gallery viewing: Invite family members to stroll through the display, which is like a professional art exhibition.
Discuss the artwork: Engage in conversations like:
“How did you make this?”
“What is your favourite piece? Why?”
“Tell me about your artwork.”
It has been an absolute pleasure watching our young artists grow this year. Their passion, dedication, and imagination have genuinely blown me away. I’m excited to see what 2025 brings for our creative community at Joondalup Schools!
Enjoy the holiday break, stay artful, and have fun!
Farewell for 2024 from the Art Room—see you all in 2025!
What a fabulous year we've had in the P&C and we can't thank everyone enough for the support you've shown. Thank you also to all our new members and to all the commitment and hard work of our volunteers.
Don't forget, the second hand uniform store will be open once more this Term on Friday 6 December, so pop by to grab some items for next year.
You can also collect your Containers for Change tags from the office until the end of term, so you can continue fundraising for the schools over the summer.
We wish everyone a safe and happy holiday and look forward to another exciting year in 2025.
Please ensure you check the lost property rack for any lost clothing, hats, drink bottles, and lunchboxes.
