The aim of Good Standing is to encourage students to take greater responsibility for their choices. This is reviewed on an individual needs basis considering the circumstances, activity and venue.
This guideline ensures a consistent approach to regular attendance in consultation with families. Attendance plays a vital role in supporting students academic and holistic development.
These guidelines a framework for staff to ensure that students at risk of not achieving their potential are identified as early as possible and appropriate interventions are implemented to maximise student learning.
We recognise that an increasing number of parents/carers who for safety, security and/or emergency purposes wish to provide their children with mobile phones. In line with Department of Education policy, this guideline details the conditions under which mobile phones are permitted at Joondalup Schools.
It is important to note that it is not a requirement at Joondalup Schools for students to have a mobile phone at school.
