Fitness and Fundamental Movement
Exercise has proven to increase mental focus and concentration. Participating in some form of exercise in the morning helps to ensure that your brain and your body are in good shape all day. Students at Joondalup Education Support Centre participate in morning fitness activities including walking, running, skipping and team games.
To extend our fitness program we have a strong focus on those students that require further development of their gross motor skills. We introduce those students to foundation movement patterns which once mastered allow the student to participate in a wider range of physical activities, sports and recreational pursuits.
